A Custom Beauty Counter Designed for Premium Retail

A luxury cosmetics retailer wanted to refresh their in-store experience. Their existing display felt dated. Customers walked past without stopping. The space lacked a focal point. The owner needed a beauty counter that would draw attention, showcase products clearly, and reflect the brand’s premium identity. We designed a custom beauty counter that delivered on all fronts.
Style & Material
White matte finish covers the front panels—clean, modern, and easy to maintain. Tempered glass forms the top surface, putting products on display without obstructing the view. Brushed metal accents run along the edges, adding a subtle touch of luxury. The overall look is refined but not flashy. Materials do the talking here.
Space & Layout
We placed the unit in a central position, creating a natural stop point for shoppers. Customers can approach from both sides, browse freely, and interact with products without bumping into others. This layout turns a walkway into a destination.
Lighting & Atmosphere
A strip of LED lighting runs along the underside of the top shelf. Light points downward, gently illuminating the products on display. Color temperature close to natural daylight. Makeup colors look true to life. Customers see exactly what they will wear when they step outside. This lighting transforms the counter from a simple display into an inviting stage.
Display & Seating
Three sides make up this counter. Two sides feature open display shelving, allowing customers to browse products from different angles. The third side holds mirrors with a counter beneath it—perfect for setting down items while trying them out. A matching stool sits in front of the mirror. Customers can take a seat, test products comfortably, and see the results up close. This setup encourages longer visits and gives shoppers the time they need to make a decision. Lockable drawers sit beneath the counter, securing high-value inventory. Everything has its place. The display stays tidy. The seating invites people to stay.
Design Philosophy
One question guides our design process: does this make the products look better? For this project, the answer was yes. The slim footprint respects the store’s layout. Clean materials reflect the brand’s premium image. Warm lighting enhances the colors and textures of the makeup. Above all, this counter does not compete with the products—it simply makes them hard to ignore.
