Pushing open the door of this musical instrument store, you will feel the tranquility in the air. Unlike ordinary music stores, you seem to step into an art gallery filled with sounds. The classical style here is not just about displaying a few old musical instruments. Instead, it is about hiding the essence of music within the walls, cabinets, and every single table.
Store Design
Although the store’s instruments are not visually present, you can tell that this store is upscale by the way. It has dark-brown wood-grain tile flooring and brown brick walls that have many different shades of brown in them. The lighting in this store is warm yellow spot lighting that makes you feel as if you have stepped into the back of an old-style concert hall.
The best aspect of the store would be the use of metal accents. The ceiling light fixtures are copper and resemble a smaller version of a bugle horn. The light that is downward from the fixtures appears golden and is perfectly suited to illuminating the brass instruments. Even the door handles to the store is matte-finish metal.
Wall Cabinets
1. Glass + Hidden Cabinet
The wall cabinet is a combination of fully glass and black matte cabinets. The glass is of ultra-high definition. Even from three meters away, you can clearly see the patterns on the reed pipe keys. The interior of the cabinet is made of black matte material, with no unnecessary decorations.
Moreover, the cabinets have multiple layers. For the long musical instruments, use vertical hanging racks, with the trombone hung upright. For the small instruments, small compartments with each compartment capable of holding just one item.
2. Lighting
The lights in the wall cabinets have warm light bulbs. For example, in the cabinet displaying the pipa, the diffused light shines on the wooden instrument body, revealing the wood’s texture. In the cabinet displaying brass instruments, the light is spot light, and the reflected shine is not dazzling, but it can still make one perceive the texture of the instruments.
Display Tables and Chairs
1. Tables
The display table is made of black walnut wood and black metal legs. The tabletop is made of thick solid wood and can hold a violin on it. The table legs are square metal tubes, which are thick and stable.
Moreover, the tables are arranged at different heights. The low tables are just at the height of the knees, making them suitable for holding small musical instruments. You can reach them by squatting down. The high tables are at the waist level, suitable for holding larger musical instruments. There is a distance of half a meter between the tables.
2. Chairs
The black leather seat surface of the stools adjacent to the counter is comfortable against the skin when seated upon while the wood provides stability with its sturdy wide wooden legs. Additionally, the stools are designed to serve two functions: the long bench that accommodates two to three people sitting together while testing musical instruments at the same time; and, independently, the square stool designed for a single individual to use.
Conclusion
After visiting this store, you will find that its wall cabinets are exquisite for displaying musical instruments, and the display tables are suitable for people to use. This enables you to comfortably touch and try the instruments. It doesn’t try to outshine the instruments with fancy decorations. Instead, it uses the stable brown color, the low-key metal, the thoughtful cabinets and tables to perfectly connect the instruments with people.
