Elegant perfume store

When it comes to the earliest origin of perfume in perfume stores, it might be in the Middle East. There are many perfume stores there, so you can also refer to the design style of perfume stores in the Middle East when designing them. The design of this perfume store is a very typical one, as their design elements are very detailed and distinctive. Now let me introduce to you what kinds of furniture designs there are.

Floating island counter

The island counter is the store’s absolute visual centerpiece. Eschewing the rigidity of traditional rectangular counters, it features a double-curved outline that creates a gentle flow of movement. The outer curve guides customers naturally around it, while the inner curve provides a dedicated area for staff service. The countertop is crafted from terrazzo, an off-white base interspersed with gray, gold, and brown stone particles. A touch of fine grain is palpable, yet the matte glaze smoothes the roughness, reminiscent of the gradations of perfume: spicy top notes and mellow base notes.

  • The island counter’s lighting design is ingenious: small square LED spotlights are embedded beneath each perfume bottle, creating a warm white glow that diffuses upward from the bottom, making the colored glass (ranging from Tiffany blue to burgundy red) appear like gems lifted by moonlight. LED light strips snake along the edge of the countertop, their light absorbed by the terrazzo and diffusely reflected, casting a hazy glow on the floor. This illuminates the products while avoiding glare—after all, perfume appreciation requires a relaxing visual atmosphere.

Wall Design: Hidden and Revealed

The wall isn’t a single display platform; instead, it’s divided into three functional levels: display cases, built-in shelves, and wall cabinets. This creates a balance of order and surprise between concealment and exposure.

The built-in shelves are the most architectural design: within a circular recess approximately 1.5 meters in diameter on the wall facing the entrance, six small suspended pedestals are arranged radially. LED light strips at the edges of the pedestals outline the circular shape. Here, the brand’s rarest perfume bottles—such as the amethyst-like “Eau de Parfum”—are displayed. Warm light filters through the bottles, making the gold foil within the liquid shimmer like falling stars. The background wall of the circular recess is clad in terrazzo in the same color, echoing the center island. Above, the words “Precious and Rare” are embossed in metal. The beveled edges of the lettering create a gradient of light and dark across the surface, subtly emphasizing the brand’s positioning.

  • The display cabinet’s design is inspired by a “picture frame”: the rectangular cabinet’s outer frame is clad in warm brown metal, while the concave back panel is painted in off-white art lacquer, with a subtle undulating texture. The shelves within the cabinet feature a staggered, stepped design, each edge inlaid with linear LED strips. Light diffuses along the edges of the shelves, illuminating the perfume bottles while allowing the texture of the back panel to playfully appear and disappear in the shadows. Most intriguing is the shelf’s 15-degree angle, allowing the bottle labels to face customers naturally, eliminating the need for stooping or tiptoeing. This detail demonstrates ergonomic considerations.

Lounge Area Tables and Chairs

The reception area chairs are crafted from a soft pink velvet fabric. The sheen of the velvet changes with the light angle, gently echoing the texture of the glass of the perfume bottles. The metal legs of the chairs are painted off-white, matching the base color of the wall and avoiding overwhelming the space with a strong color. The reception desk continues the curved design of the center island. The vertical grooves below the countertop are embedded with LED ambient lighting. Light leaks through the gaps, casting fine spots of light on the floor, making the process of waiting for checkout a visual delight.

  • Even more captivating is the glass display case design: near the entrance, a freestanding glass case is modeled after a “jewelry box,” with a slender metal frame and handles shaped like an abstracted version of the brand’s logo. The velvet inside the case is a pale pink, creating a color dialogue with the seat fabric. LED spotlights overhead precisely illuminate the limited-edition perfume displayed in the center of the case, making every ray of light reflected by the glass a footnote to its scarcity.

Perfume Store LED light

The store’s lighting system is a master of layered storytelling: The foundational lighting comes from recessed ceiling downlights, which evenly distribute 3000K warm white light, creating a bright yet non-glaring space. Accent lighting is provided by underlights on the center island, linear strip lights on the display cases, and contour lights in circular recesses. Like spotlights on a stage, these draw customers’ attention to the perfume bottles. Ambient lighting, nestled in the crevices around the reception desk and within the baseboards of the wall cabinets, uses subtle shimmer to delineate the spatial layers, allowing a sense of refinement to quietly flourish in the shadows.

  • The most captivating moment is in the evening, when the natural light outside fades and the LED lights within gradually illuminate. The perfume bottles glow amber in the warm light, the terrazzo floor’s gravel particles are aroused by the light, and even the finest dust particles floating in the air become dancers in the light and shadow. At this moment, the space transcends its function as a place to sell perfume and becomes an immersive art exhibition about “smell and sight.”
