Barber store design
Pushing open the door of LeoZ Barber Shop, the first thing that catches the eye is not the dazzling light box or the messy tools, but the warm atmosphere wrapped in deep wood color and stone texture – the front desk at the entrance has a light gray stone texture countertop, with a circle of warm light strips hidden below. The metal logo of “LeoZ” is accompanied by the silhouette of a lion. The texture of “not noisy” was nailed to the first impression.
The design of this barber shop doesn’t follow a “flashy” approach; instead, it shows ingenuity in the material combination: The entrance wall is a dark wood-colored built-in cabinet, the middle area is decorated with a rough-textured cultural stone wall, and beside the hairdressing area, there is a vertical wooden wall. The collision of different materials makes the space not monotonous, but it is uniformly wrapped in warm brown, deep black and light gray. Even the exposed black ceiling pipes make the bamboo chandelier look more gentle.
Overall layout
As soon as you enter, you’ll find the front desk area, located right beside the entrance. This way, you can receive customers immediately without blocking the view from behind. Behind the front desk is the display cabinet. Just two steps further is the core hair-cutting area – six or seven hair-cutting positions are lined up in the middle, with a distance of more than half a meter between each position, so there is no need to bump arms like in traditional barber shops.
On one side of the hair-cutting area is the shamp-washing area. Two shamp-washing beds are placed against a vertical wooden wall. Not far from the hair-cutting area, a wall is slightly used to separate them, avoiding the sound of washing water. On the other side by the window is the waiting area, which is just right for natural light. The most distinctive feature is the foot-washing chair area beside the cultural stone wall, which is at a certain distance from the main area but within the line of sight, neither out of place nor neglected.
Display cabinet
The dark wooden display cabinet behind the front desk is divided into five layers, each of which is equipped with an embedded warm light strip – it can not only display hair care products but also decorative items. When the light is turned on, even ordinary hair mask cans look exquisite. Beside the cultural stone wall, there is also a set of small display cabinets, whose materials correspond to the stone-patterned countertop of the front desk. They are just right for placing frequently used tools or samples and do not take up aisle space.
Mirror and chairs
Each haircut position is equipped with a mirror that is both aesthetically pleasing and practical: the frame is a marble-textured panel with a black thin frame, and the side is embedded with an LED light strip – the warm light just shines on the customer’s face, allowing a clear view of the hair color layers during the haircut without any color deviation errors due to the light. The mirror is an independent standing mirror. It is not made into a bulky cabinet. Instead, there is a small round table beside each position: a black metal base with a white countertop, which is just right to hold guests’ bags, mobile phones, or barbers’ tool boxes. It is much more flexible than a mirror with a cabinet.
The hairdressing chair is a black high-back soft-padded model. The backrest can be adjusted in Angle, and the base is made of thick black metal, which won’t shake when sitting on it. Not only is it comfortable, but the black texture matches the dark tones of the space just right, and it won’t spoil the atmosphere like bright-colored chairs.
- Shampoo bed
The two beds in the shampoo area are in black and white: the white ceramic basin looks clean, and the black bed body is made of soft-padded material and should be electrically adjustable – when the customer lies down, it can be adjusted to a comfortable semi-reclining Angle, and the barber doesn’t have to bend over to operate it.
Each bed is equipped with a small dark wooden sideboard beside it, which is just right for holding shampoo and towels, so you don’t have to run around to get them. A few small green plants are placed beside the vertical wooden wall in the shamp-washing area. With the built-in lights on the wall, even if you lie down to wash your hair, you won’t feel stuffy. Instead, there is a sense of relaxation as if you are “taking a break”.
- Waiting area
The waiting area was not placed in the corner but instead chose the position of the entire large window: the grey curved sofa with orange cushions perfectly balanced the “coldness” of the dark tones in the space, making it look lively. A small side table beside the sofa is furnished with green plants, which not only serve as decoration but also provide a place for waiting guests to put their cups and mobile phones.
There is no hard partition between this place and the hairdressing area. Only hairdressing mirrors and green plants are used to slightly block it. This way, customers can see the progress of the store without being disturbed by the sound of haircuts. The sense of proportion is just right. Especially on sunny days, when natural light filters in and wraps around the shadows of green plants, even if you wait for half an hour, it won’t feel unbearable.
- Foot washing chair
The most unexpected part was the foot massage chair area beside the cultural stone wall – this was no ordinary barber shop setup: two black high-backed soft-padded chairs with adjustable pedals in the front, and a control panel on the small table beside them, which seemed to have a massage function. Beside the cabinet, there is a foot-soaking device, clearly offering a combined service of “haircuts and relaxation”.
The existence of this area makes LeoZ more than just a “place for getting a haircut” : after getting a haircut, one can soak their feet to take a break, lie down to rest while waiting for friends, and even waiting becomes a “leisure break” – this is probably the most distinctive feature of it compared to street-side barber shops: it not only meets the need for “haircuts”, but also wants customers to stay a little longer and relax a bit.
