A tattoo shop design and custom furnishings create the base of its brand image, operational function and long term value as a business. Each element (i.e. design, reception counter, between stations layout, display system for jewelry/art) has to be custom designed and built to fit with the position of the tattoo studio on the marketplace. Look at this industrial-style tattoo shop; its unified design and well-planned layout allow even a small shop to showcase its unique character.
Design Theme
The tattoo shop design style is industrial chic, giving it a distinct vibe. Exposed concrete on the walls, floors, and ceiling. This gives off a genuine, tough feel. The concrete’s matte texture makes a chill background that lets the tattoos and jewelry pop. To soften the hard edges of the concrete and metal, the design incorporates warm, tactile materials like leather and wood. Elevating the space from a purely utilitarian industrial setting to a premium, inviting environment.
Reception Desk
The reception counter is where customers first meet the company. It’s made of concrete textured laminate, with one side left a bit rough and chipped. This imperfection is on purpose, showing off the industrial’s natural look. The cashier counter front has RECEPTION in raised gold letters, simple but classy. Next to the desk, there’s a eye-catching big green wall that softens the industrial feel.
Jewelry & Art Display
The modular grid system display for jewelry and airts is a series of black metal grid panels mounted on the concrete walls. These panels are fitted with clear acrylic shelves at various heights. The grid structure allows for complete flexibility; shelves can be added, removed, or repositioned to accommodate different product sizes and display configurations. This modularity is essential for a retail component that will evolve with new collections and trends.
Tattoo Work Station
This ink shop design features two tattoo workrooms. The one on the left offers complete privacy, while the room on the right provides some privacy. The use of mesh screens is a clever design choice, allowing air and light to pass through while maintaining a degree of privacy. The interior layout is identical, with customer seating, the tattoo artist’s work area, and wheeled storage cabinets for easy movement, keeping the artist’s workspace organized and efficient. Each station is equipped with a dedicated concrete sink.
The industrial chic theme is crafted with finesse throughout the tattoo shop design via the consistent mix of materials (concrete, black metal, leather, & wood) to form an area that is modern yet still feels authentic. The reception counter serves as the outward brand identity of the business, while the tattoo stations are thoughtful layouts created with respect to both the artist’s workflow and client’s comfort. Finally, the unified display system for both the artist’s jewellery and artwork transforms the merchandise and portfolio pieces into essential parts of the shop’s interior design, supporting increased sales, and affirming the artistic credibility of the tattoo business.
