The design style of this sanitary display shop’s every material, finish and colour selection was carefully considered for its ability to showcase products as well as reinforce Korest’s luxury market position. This creates a modern yet comfortable atmosphere in stark contrast to the traditional sterile, messy environments found in most sanitary showrooms.
Color Theme
The sanitary display shop base treatment is vertical, light-colored wood veneer that covers all of the main wall surfaces vertically. The vertical grain creates a perceived higher ceiling and adds some softer, more natural texture to offset the hard, cool surfaces of the ceramics, porcelain and metals in the space. The polished white marble and large format ceramic tiles that cover the flooring, countertop and display fixtures were chosen as complimentary materials to the wood. Black accents have been incorporated into the design to visually ground the overall space and highlight focal points of merchandise.
Layout
A bathroom display shop should display a wide selection of products but avoid overwhelming customers. The layout of the sanitary store revolves around a central walkway, which leads customers logically from the entrance to the reception desk. Customers will first see toilets (on the left-hand wall) and shower systems (on the right-hand wall) because these are the two most frequently purchased types of bathroom products. The basin and faucet products are displayed in freestanding units at the end of the walkway because they are associated with the higher-end ‘bathroom vanity packages’ available at that location. Customers will then be encouraged to visit the consultation area.
Reception Counter
The sleek white marble finish of the reception desk with soft grey veining signifies refinement and is adorned with a narrow band of gold trim that adds a touch of understated elegance. The rounded shape of the desk provides an inviting feel. Behind the reception desk, the vertical panels of light wood offer texture, warmth and depth; while the floor-to-ceiling green wall (composed of lush ferns and broad-leaved plants) establishes a biophilic connection to the bathroom display shop—transforming it into an oasis of tranquility.
Display Fixtures
Wall-mounted display shelving units create a neat look while freeing up floor space for the larger products in sanitary display shop. Showers have been fitted with black matte custom backplates, pre-drilled for hardware, and as a result, provide high contrast to the product being displayed. Additionally, the linear white shelving serve as an accessory to the wall-mounted display shelves, which allows customers to visually compare finishes. Finally, black powder-coated pedestal stands elevate all the shower display fixtures so they are visible to customers and hide the plumbing below. The design creates visual interest and hierarchy and draws attention to the product on display.
