Retail Design References

Design reference: this page is not presented as a completed Benson Display client project. Use the layout and fixture ideas to describe your own requirements; specifications and project scope need separate confirmation.

This modern salon kiosk  concept blends styling stations with interactive product displays in an open layout, featuring mirror-retail hybrids, sustainable bamboo accents, and a color consultation lounge.

Overall Style & Color Scheme

Taking black as the primary hue, it pairs with eye-catching pink decorative lines, creating a striking visual contrast. The design exudes a stylish, high-end vibe while brimming with energy. Pink elements—like the glowing bottom strips and decorative lines—add a trendy touch, appealing to young clients, which aligns perfectly with the hair styling industry’s focus on personality.

Functional Area Layout

Service Operation Zone

Features multiple mirrored workstations with white high chairs, offering hair styling services. The mirrors are central to the client experience. Embedded lights above them mimic natural light, ensuring clients see hairstyles in optimal illumination. White high chairs add a clean, modern touch, enhancing comfort during longer sessions. This zone is thoughtfully arranged for efficiency, letting stylists work clutter-free and boosting service professionalism.

Product Display Zone

Includes glass display cabinets for hair care items like conditioners and styling tools. The glass is strategically chosen—its transparency removes barriers, encouraging impulse buys. By prominently displaying products, the space capitalizes on “add-on” sales. A client loving their styling might spot a product they want, creating easy upsell opportunities. Cabinets are also organized logically, simplifying navigation for both staff and customers.

Cashier & Storage Zone

The central counter with drawers handles cash, tool storage, and backup products. This zone is the operational backbone. Drawers ensure easy access for staff to retrieve change, receipts, or tools. By merging storage and transaction functions, it minimizes unnecessary movement, keeping workflows smooth. Whether storing extra products or managing transactions, it ensures seamless behind-the-scenes operations.

Visual Marketing Design

  • Promotional visuals are strategically placed. For instance, images of hair tools (like straighteners) and posters of models with stunning hairstyles are displayed on equipment. These visuals effectively communicate service offerings and product benefits, reinforcing the brand image.
  • The pink glowing bottom strips enhance the space’s ambiance. They also highlight the display cabinets’ outlines, improving visibility in malls—especially during nighttime—and drawing in foot traffic.

 Commercial Scene Adaptability

Ideal for open commercial spaces like shopping malls, this design merges service experience (hair styling) with product sales, forming a “service  —product conversion” business cycle. It maximizes spatial value: the service, display, and transaction areas collaborate to create a smooth experience. Clients can enjoy hair services and conveniently buy related products. The modern kiosk design not only meets practical needs but also matches the target audience’s aesthetic tastes, ensuring lasting appeal in commercial settings.
