If you are looking for a design for your small skate shop, don’t miss our small skate shop today. This shop, with its design logic of street elements combined with warm texture, transforms an area of several dozen square meters into a trendy gathering place that is both professional and inviting for customers to linger.

Style Concept

The shop doesn’t simply collect skate supplies like crazy. It uses the easy-going style of skate culture as the basis for its decor. The main element of the decor for the whole shop was a subtle black wall surface in a single room space, which combined with a wood floor, makes for a peaceful but inviting visual effect.

And the dark wall with wood floor gives an open feel and helps keep the shop visually from feeling jumbled by the many brightly colored skateboards. The designer used the skate as an important decorative item on the wall. The designer also used vintage bicycles and art on the wall as additional items to help impart an older style look.

Spatial Layout

The store centers its visual appeal around a central black and red concentric circle platform. All the shelves and display areas are arranged around it. As customers enter from the entrance, they naturally move along the platform and won’t miss any of the display areas. The open hanging area and shoe rack on the right side of the entrance are the first flow areas. The latest season’s clothing and sneakers are clearly visible, and one can pick them up and try them on as they pass by.

Deep red brick skate wall and the cashier counter form a professional experience area. Skaters can choose skate accessories here, consult assembly issues, and the quiet corner is also suitable for exchanging experiences. The emergency exits on both sides and the floor-to-ceiling glass windows not only ensure the transparency of the space but also reduce the sense of oppression in the small area.

Furniture Selection

The furniture in this store does not feature industrial metal shelves. Instead, it uses dark wooden pieces. Matching the light wood color of the floor, it adds warmth to the space.

Kishimoto display counter: A low wooden island counter at the entrance. The counter surface is sloped, allowing the details of the shoes to be clearly visible. Below it, there is space for storing inventory, fulfilling both display and storage functions.

Layered shelves: The multi-level wooden shelves on the right. The upper layer displays hats and folded T-shirts, while the lower layer houses boxed clothing. The open design allows customers to freely browse, aligning with the style of skateboard self-service shopping.

Clothing hanging area and storage cabinet: The floor-standing hanging rack is paired with a simple wooden frame. It neither blocks the skateboard decorations on the wall nor hinders the display of clothing. The low cabinet against the wall is used to store skateboard accessories. The gray color of the cabinet door is in harmony with the wall, maintaining a clean visual appearance.

Wall Design

The walls are the most outstanding design feature of this store. Each wall serves as a platform for display, creates an atmosphere, and also fulfills functional purposes.

Red Brick skate wall: The entire red brick wall is adorned with three layers of green light strips, delineating the display area for skateboards. 15 skateboards are arranged in a gradient of colors, resembling an art installation while also allowing customers to remove them at any time for trial rides.

Dark gray functional wall: The functional wall is dark grey on both sides and has a vintage bicycle and some pictures on one side and hangers for skateboards with shelves on the other side. In between are hangers for clothes and a low cabinet that function as both decorative and functional.

Floor-to-ceiling glass windows: The large windows with white glass allow plenty of natural light into the store and provide a way for passersby to see the skateboard wall and displays in the store, resulting in a natural method of drawing in customers.

For entrepreneurs who aim to establish a small skateboarding shop, this store offers a clear blueprint. No need for expensive decoration; all that is required is to integrate the skateboarding culture into every detail of the space. With practical furniture and wall designs that tell stories, a small shop can possess the power to touch people’s hearts.
