This ice cream shop counter is the heart of the store—both the operational nerve center and the first thing customers notice. We designed it along modern gelato counter lines, specifically for handcrafted ice cream and artisanal gelato retail. The palette is fresh and simple: pale lake blue against crisp white. It’s a soothing combination that feels just right for a sweet treat shop.
A warm LED strip runs along the base of the counter, casting a soft glow that takes the edge off the cabinet’s solid build. The whole unit ends up looking lighter, airier, with nice depth and definition. The design works with how today’s ice cream shops actually run—covering the visual side, the daily workflow, and crowd management all at once.
Custom Interior Details
As a custom ice cream bar interior, this counter comes with a number of details tailored to the business:

Exterior facade: The curved corner profile flows naturally with the store’s layout. The front panel carries a custom round brand logo, and on the right side you’ll find a clear “ORDER” sign that points customers straight to the counter. The light strip along the base does double duty—it sets a welcoming mood and keeps the counter visible even when the lights are low in the evening.

Countertop: The work surface is stone—stain-resistant and easy to keep clean. There’s a neatly arranged area for white paper cups, plus designated spots for the register, coffee machine, and ingredient bins. Up front, a glass refrigerated display case shows off finished products or fresh ingredients, keeping them visible while protecting them from dust and temperature changes.

Overhead lightbox area: A custom multi-tier lightbox setup carries the brand name “INVERNO,” along with “HANDMADE & FRESH” and “ICE CREAM” messages. Several digital screens cycle through real product shots, giving customers a quick visual taste of what’s available and making good use of the space above the counter for promotions.

Rear storage area: Upright fridges and prep equipment sit tucked in behind the counter, keeping the refrigeration and prep work out of customers’ sight lines. The front area stays clean and uncluttered, and the whole layout is built around how the store actually preps and serves—short paths, easy access, everything in reach.
Overall Layout
This counter is a solid example of smart ice cream shop layout thinking:
It occupies the full corner section on the right side of the store, leaving the left side open as a clear walkway for dine-in customers. The ordering point and the seating area don’t interfere with each other—no crowding, no queues spilling into the tables.
The counter faces the entrance directly, so customers lock onto the ordering spot as soon as they walk in. It runs deep along the aisle, with the back end connecting to the prep area. Staff can grab ingredients and serve orders without wasting steps, which keeps things moving fast.
The walls around it carry matching soft furnishings and menu lightboxes, so the counter doesn’t stick out—it flows with the rest of the space. From the front door to the back, the visual line holds together nicely.
Retro Style Elements
The counter also borrows a few things from retro ice cream bar design:
The rounded corners and clean lines take cues from old-school ice cream counters—soft, inviting, no sharp angles anywhere. It has that friendly neighborhood shop feel.
The lit signage and tidy cup displays echo the way vintage ice cream parlors used to merchandise their products. But we’ve updated things with modern LED strips and digital screens, so you get the nostalgic look without sacrificing today’s operational needs.
