Separate hand-loaded shelving requirements from pallet handling before comparing racks. Record the size, weight and support points of the stored items, together with the handling equipment used. A product described as heavy duty does not establish a usable load rating or make it suitable for every warehouse operation.

Open sides can help staff reach goods from more than one direction. Side and back panels may be useful for separating storage areas, but they do not automatically make a bay dustproof or secure. Consider shelf surfaces, compartment sizes and access to the rear of the unit alongside the appearance of the enclosure.

Provide a stock list, measured floor plan and expected loading arrangement when requesting a proposal from Benson Display. Identify mixed-size goods and any items requiring individual supports. Include the intended aisle layout and handling approach.

Have the proposed structure, floor suitability, anchoring and installation requirements checked by the appropriate qualified party.
