Style of Tavern & Taproom Design Ideas

Interior style forms the basis of Tavern Design; style reflects a brand’s unique culture and helps customers remember it.

  • Traditional Rustic Tavern: Warm, rugged, and nostalgic—evoking the classic “local pub” feel

  • Modern Craft Taproom: Clean, industrial-chic, and beer-centric—putting taps and brewing culture front and center

  • Industrial Tavern: Rugged, edgy, and low-maintenance—ideal for venues with high customer turnover and live music

  • Coastal Tavern: Light, airy, and casual—reflecting coastal or nautical themes without being kitschy

Important of Design

Before opening a tavern, an excellent design needs to be developed to help with evaluating how it will affect how the business will layout its space. The customer area is where customers will be able to view the entire space at once as soon as they enter, so it will leave a long-lasting first impression. Not only does the taproom interior design deal with the aesthetics of the interior, but it also integrates all of the necessary infrastructures that are essential to having a successful business in a way that they do not disrupt the aesthetic look of the space.

Interior Layout

To avoid congestion in peak times, wide corridor systems connect seating with service areas in tavern. For effective seating, segmentation of areas is necessary to accommodate various groups. For optimal service, this would mean a central bar counter for the quick service of drinks with a back-of-house (BOH) space immediately behind for inventory and drink preparation, also convenient to all seating. Furthermore, point of sale (POS) systems located around the exit and entrance areas will expedite the checkout process.

Bar Counter

A bar counter is specified with a reinforced plywood substrate with laminated, metal/tile finish. Because the top surface will be constantly subjected to abrasives, chemicals, and water, quartz and solid surface materials are considered high-end materials. It may seem like just an added accessory, the bar counter’s back display rack is more than decoration. The display rack can be tiered open shelves or glass front cabinets that hold the bottled beer, liquor, and specialty bottles. LED strip lights inside the display rack illuminate product labels.

Commercial Furniture in Benson Display

The furniture used in taverns engineered for strength and durability. We emphasize our manufacturing processes to create products that are built with structural integrity. Heavy-gauge steel is used for table bases with reinforced cross-bracing and commercial-grade mounting plates to prevent wobbling. Our bar stools and chairs are made with five-point bases, Class 4 gas-lift cylinders rated, and built to industrial standards. All tabletops have a rigid core material, sealed and resistant to scratches, heat from liquids & alcohols. Upholstery uses vinyl or fabrics, featuring high rub counts, directly attached to high-density foam, and sewn to ensure durability over time. Our taproom modular booth systems are designed to maximize seating area and provide an ergonomic seating surface to support comfort during long periods of sitting.
